Here are some photo's of the major overhaul to get the car up to a reasonably competitive spec in 2007 for the 2007 Silverstone Classic using a loaned engine. this required the bonnet removing & entire front bulkhead stripping of all its parts, the bulkhead to body frame replacing, the holes that had been drilled in the previous 50+ years welding up & the bulkhead & chassis painting, the front suspension o'hauling & painting, a new wiring loom being fitted, a dashboard retrim & repaint, etc.
The upgrade inc a brake overhaul (using only slightly upgraded shoe material), new hubs all round & plumbed in FIA legal fire extinguisher, this was done to make the car reliable for use in 1hr + enduro's in the UK or Europe instead of the short 10 /15 lap / 10/15 minute/ hillclimb & sprints it had competed in since April 1954 !
2008
the final assembly of the cars own engine & gearbox was achieved with a very late Friday / Saturday morning & by Saturday evening it was almost ready for the AMOC Donington race 2008 on the Sunday.
