1999 S.Bamford St John Horsfall qualified 28th, 17th Feltham,6th A/B car, 8 lap Feltham with STD DB4s race, outquallified by all front running A & B Feltham cars, inc Chris Adams who qualified 19th in KAK 640, 2nd A/B Feltham car behind Rikki Cann in WFH 400, Jack Moss's old car in heavy rain!, the race was cancelled again due to the heavy rain.
2000 S. Bamford St John Horsfall S'stone pre 59 race 2nd in Class
2001 S. Bamford St. John Horsfall S’stone 10th overall 3rd in Class - Pre 59 race- handled like a boat - later found someone had removed front roll bar completely !
In August 2005 the 2.6ltr worn out race engine was removed untouched from MYT & fitted to 8 EMU for testing at Mallory Park & its 1st race at Oulton Park Gold Cup, it took just 7 laps for 8 EMU to break the all time Feltham DB2 & 2/4 lap record before the engine failed from overheating caused by a rotted core plug ! It was fried.
The car was completely worn out after years of heavy use, it needed a complete new engine - the only parts useable were the cam covers, front cover, sump & sprockets !.
So Chris & Jean dug very deep in their pockets (mainly Chris) & financed the project themselves, about £40k which took 10 years or more to pay off..
A rebult gearbox, new back axle, propshaft, braking system, front & rear hubs, front suspension, wiring loom, modified fuel system to stop surge.
It also needed updating in line with modern safety standards, so it had an FIA seat, FIA fire extinguisher, FIA battery cutout, etc.
This was to get the car capable of racing in 1 hr + Enduro's rather than the very short 10 or 15 lappers / 10 or 15 minute races / sprints & hillclimbs that the car had been competing in for the past 43 years !

2007 C. Adams Silverstone Classic 14th overall Feltham race on the Historic GP Circuit - this was after hubs were the only things uprated, using a loaned 3ltr full race engine.
in 2008 C. Adams & S. Bamford shared MYT at the Amoc Donington races- all practice for the 3 events running its own engine & gearbox in which were both finished & installed the evening & early morning before, Chris & Jean had 2 or 3 hrs sleep at a local hotel.
This was only the 3rd or 4th time Chris & Stephen had ever shared a car, one of the times before was in Chris's Lotus Europa at AMOC Spring Curborough May 1992 where Stephen bent all the inlet valves on his final run before Chris's final run, I know / think this was done by putting the car in 1st gear instead of 3rd after the finish line to stop Chris beating Stephen, why !
Luckily a set of valves & head gasket set were all that was needed to put it right, + 8 hrs or so labour.

2008 S. Bamford Amoc Donington, 50s Sports Cars race - 9th overall, Team 1st in Class
(NOTE - Stephen Bamford wouldn't tell us what revs he was using on Chris's brand new engine! Chris was using 4500 in practice & 5000 in his race)
2008 Adams / Bamford Amoc Donington, FIA GT 30 minute race - 12th out of 13 Finishers, No Brakes & a misfire at 4800 rpm which stopped it revving.
