ASTON MARTIN DB2 MYT625

POSSIBLY THE MOST FAMOUS CLUB RACING DB2 EVER ?

This is the website of 'probably the most successful Feltham car in Aston Martin Owners Club racing ever  and arguably one of the most Successful Aston Martin Owners Club Racing Aston Martin's of all time'
an excerpt from the windscreen label write up for the ?AMOC DB2 reunion 18th & 19th August 2001?
Kind words written by Alan Wheatley specifically for that event.
The car was raced in very short Club racing events, mainly 5, 8 or 10 laps from April 1954, but in 2007 it was prepared for much longer events (up to 6 hrs!) which culminated in the Woodcote Trophy event at the Spa Six Hour meeting in September 2009., only the car's 2nd 1 hr Enduro, the last being in April 1954 with then owner Alex McMillan at the wheel.
still A Remarkable Car though LML/50/181 - MYT 625

STOP PRESS !
Feb 2021 - found a photo of the other race at AMOC Snetterton with Alex McMillan driving, it in MYT photos.
May 2020 - Just altered the web site to state the truth about how long races were in the 70s to 2007, very short !
May 2020 -  Just found a race qualifying result sheet that I had forgotten about, the 1999 St John Horsfall Feltham race including STD DB4s, where Stephen Bamford qualified 28th in MYT out of 33 cars in heavy rain, almost the last Feltham Aston, out qualified by all of the front running A/B Feltham cars including Chris Adams, driving KAK640 in 19th place, 2nd fastest of the A/B cars behind Rikki Cann in WFH 400, 1st A/B car & ex Jack Moss, then as now owned by Jim Darling, the race was cancelled due to heavy rain.

April 2020 - We have added Guy Moss into the 1990 results at AMOC Wiscombe & Curborough - an ommision on my part, sorry Guy.

April 2018- We have been offered a Trophy from Curborough 1972, Class 3, 2nd in class - I think it was Craig Dent who came 2nd in Class 2 but as he drove his DB4 GT in Class 3 he might have come 2nd in that Class & the Trophy engravers got muddled up. We need to find the results for that meeting.
Craig has been in touch about this but can't remember it.

Found a race programme from 1971 which states Craig Dent was entered, all I have to do now is find out whether he competed in MYT or not. 03/05/13
We have been given some letters  from Aston Martin that date from 1963 explaining the history, the letters to AML were from Fred Tippetts, Briony Serrell's father, they were given to us by Ian Stowe on the 24/12/12.

THE EASIEST WAY TO NAVIGATE  THIS SITE IS TO  HIT THIS  'ABOUT THE CAR' BUTTON WHICH TAKES YOU TO THE TOP OF THE NEXT PAGE & THEN SCROLL RIGHT DOWN THE PAGE & HIT THE SITE MAP BUTTON ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE or ALTERNATIVELY HIT THIS 'SITE MAP' BUTTON AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE!

This website is updated regularly so keep coming back & having a good look,
there are 18 pages of  history, photo's & info on the car &  the people involved with it.
We are adding more information as we find it to our History file, so every bit of help in the History of this car  will be useful & even photo's of it at event's up to 2009 will be useful to it's file, however limitations on the amount of photo's means that they may not be put on the site for some time.
